Job DescriptionThis role is individually accountable for setting the client strategy ownership, for a portfolio of clients which feeds into the broader OMCC strategy.The role is not static and will evolve as continue to expand the function, driving commercial insights and the effective management of a portfolio of clients.Key Result Areas / OutputsSets the strategic consulting direction and client ownership for a portfolio of OMCC clients, which feeds into broader OMCC consulting strategy.Manages the implementation of the strategy, monitors the results and adjusts the strategy as required.Full accountability for the provision, by OMCC consultants or self, of post-retirement medical aid consulting, general, actuarial, consulting, communication, group assurance and legal consulting services to existing / new clients.Develops, leads and manages OMCC Consultant client strategyActively forms part of the product development an enhancement process for OM Corporate to stay abreast of market changes.Ensures that systems and processes are aligned with legislative requirements.Ensures strong relationships with clients/trustees and management committees to reduce business risk, ensure retention and identification of opportunities for new business.Manages the expense and income budgets.Sources and implements continuous improvement in service delivery.Resolves top-level service delivery problems where OMCC Consultants need assistance and support.Intervenes in and resolves conflict situations.Ensures consistency in communication to clients.Ensures strong relationship with trustees/management committees and clients so as to reduce business risk, ensure retention and identify opportunities for new business.Manages and delivers consulting and advise services according to contracted service levels.Responsible for retention and growth of business against targets.Markets new and enhanced products and services to clients.Works together with sales teams in the new business processPlease note that the appointments may be made at a lower role size depending on the successful candidates’ experienceQualifications, Skills and Experience:A nearly/newly qualified Actuary with extensive insurance experience.MBA or commercial qualification would be advantageous.10 years track record in Employee Benefit, Actuarial and Post-retirement medical aid/pensions outsourcing.Track record in client relationship management at c-suite level. naSkillsAction Planning, Adaptive Thinking, Agile Project Management, Data Compilation, Data Controls, Executing Plans, Financial Acumen, Identifying Customer Needs, Information Management, Insurance Product Management, Insurance Sales, Legal Practices, Negotiation, Policies & Procedures, Risk Management, Workflow ManagementCompetenciesBalances StakeholdersBuilds Effective TeamsBuilds NetworksBusiness InsightCommunicates EffectivelyDevelops TalentDirects WorkDrives ResultsEducationBachelor of Science (BSc): Actuarial Science (Required)Closing Date11 November 2026 , 23:59The appointment will be made from the designated group in line with the Employment Equity Plan of Old Mutual South Africa and the specific business unit in question.The Old Mutual Story!
