Job DescriptionThe Group Finance Enablement FIT Business Intelligence Business Analyst is a well-rounded and skilled individual with a mature understanding of Data Management. By understanding and using data, solutions are designed and built to assist stakeholders with producing reports and dashboards that will enable informed business decisions. This role requires a committed, analytical individual with excellent communication skills.Key Result Areas / Outputs:Tasks and ResponsibilitiesBuild trusted relationship with stakeholdersGather and document data and reporting requirementsPerform data profiling and analysisIndependently or collaboratively design data models to meet business requirementProduce clear and comprehensive design artefacts such as data flows, source to target mappings, data models, sample reports/dashboardsBuild proof-of-concept or mock-ups to illustrate functionality and/or outputEngage with technical team and support development processTest and monitor testing to ensure quality final deliveryBuild output e.g. Power BI reports and/or dashboardsFacilitate implementation, delivery and adoption by stakeholders through training & supportMentor and manage junior team membersPrepare and present regular progress updates to stakeholdersFollow Data Management best practices, particularly ensuring Data Governance is in placePersonal effectivenessIndividually accountable for managing own time, tasks and output qualityCommunicates clearly and timeouslyProblem solving aptitudeCollaborates effectively with rest of team and stakeholdersAbility to work under pressure and meet firm deadlinesWilling and able to learn quickly and adapt to changeAligns to ways of working and team cultureQualifications, Skills and Experience:Experience: 5+ years working experience in the BIBA role with warehousing/power BI experienceQualifications: Degree or Postgraduate degree in Information Systems or related fieldTechnologies: SQL, PowerBI, Data Warehousing, Tabular cubes, Microsoft Master Data Services, DAX, Exposure to AWS, data lake architecture and json would be advantageousMethodologies: DAMA, DCAM, KimballAdvantageous: Experience with Oracle ERP and EPM systemsAdvantageous: Analytical and BI experience in Human Capital, Actuarial and/or financial reporting SkillsAction Planning, Analytics Software, Business Intelligence (BI) Analysis, Computer Literacy, Data Analysis, Database Reporting, Data Classification, Data Compilation, Data Controls, Data Encoding, Data Interpretations, Data Modeling, Evaluating Information, Information Retrieval, Report ReviewCompetenciesBusiness InsightCommunicates EffectivelyDecision QualityEnsures AccountabilityManages ComplexityOptimizes Work ProcessesEducationNQF Level 7 - Degree, Advance Diploma or Postgraduate Certificate or equivalentClosing Date11 October 2026 , 23:59The appointment will be made from the designated group in line with the Employment Equity Plan of Old Mutual South Africa and the specific business unit in question.The Old Mutual Story!
