Job DescriptionSymmetry is a business in build mode, evolving, growing, and redefining what investment solutions should look like. This role is accountable for research & analysis and investment recommendations within an asset class. The incumbent is individually accountable for achieving results through own efforts.Key Responsibilities: Researches, analyses and monitors asset managers and strategies.Makes recommendations for the selection of investment decisions based on the research process.Produce high quality research and insights reports on investment solutions.Produce fund peer group analysis output with quality insights (e.g. quarterly screening, manager flags, report back preparation, fiduciary updates).Act as key points of access and communication between external fund managers and Symmetry.Assist in collecting and transforming relevant information relating to funds, fund managers, market trends, etc.Keep the OMMM team abreast of important market events related to funds and fund managersEffectively communicate manager research findings to broader team These responsibilities offer an overview and a general outline of the role and are not exhaustive.Qualification, Skills and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, or a related field.CFA candidate or charterholder, or similar.2 - 7 years of relevant experienceRelevant knowledge of the industry and fund managersDemonstrate strong quantitative and analysis skills naSkillsAccounting, Action Planning, Analytical Thinking, Budget Management, Client Management, Computer Literacy, Data Classification, Data Compilation, Data Controls, Data Modeling, Document Management, Evaluating Information, Oral Communications, Policies & ProceduresCompetenciesBusiness InsightCollaboratesCommunicates EffectivelyDecision QualityEnsures AccountabilityFinancial AcumenInstills TrustManages ComplexityEducationNQF Level 5 - Higher, Advance or Occupational Certificate or equivalentClosing Date29 October 2026 , 23:59The appointment will be made from the designated group in line with the Employment Equity Plan of Old Mutual South Africa and the specific business unit in question.The Old Mutual Story!
